In the wake of the cronut madness, I give you the wonut. Unlike the wonuts created by The Waffle Cafe in Chicago, these are not fried. They are however, dipped in glaze and then in a cinnamon sugar. It really does taste like a snickerdoodle cookie. And you get to eat it for breakfast. Yes.
Whisk together the dry ingredients:

Ingredients:
FOR THE WONUTS:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 TSP Baking Powder
- 2 TSP Ground Cinnamon
- 3/4 cup low fat milk (1%)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 TSP vanilla extract
- 2 TBSP Vanilla Greek Yogurt
FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1/4 cup milk (1%)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 TSP vanilla
FOR THE TOPPING:
- 2 TBSP ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions:
1.Preheat waffle iron. Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, add the dry ingredients together. Whisk to combine. In a separate small bowl, add the wet ingredients, and stir together. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix together until completely combined.
2. Cook the waffles: add about 3/4 cup of batter to the belgium waffle iron ( if you have a different waffle iron add the amount of batter you usually do). Cook waffle according to manufacturer’s instructions, I cooked each for 4 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in a shallow dish, make the glaze.Mix the ingredients together until evenly combined. In another shallow bowl, make the topping. Combine the sugar and the cinnamon.
4. Once waffle has cooled, break it into quarters. Dip the top of the waffle in the glaze and then in the topping.
5. Serve immediately.
ENJOY!
